Dan Curhan This is an excellent atmospheric black metal album with distant, sparse vocals and prominent drums. The drum production is outstanding - crystal clear, full of life and energy and dynamics, with a nice tone to boot! The bass is engaging, and the riffs and melodies are good. The overall production leans toward the cold, thin, raw side of the spectrum, but is still quite listenable and enjoyable. Overall, a very strong release!

YomaBarr 14 January. 7th album to the year's list. Uncanny.
The longer I listen the more things raise their heads and scream to be discovered. Fabulous album!
I had written somewhere I wished I could live to hear Caleb play at his 30 years of age, not to mention 40. Incredible talent. And a shoutout to Absenxia too, of course, as usual.

And now I'm moving to check on that Caleb's BDM project with unpronounceable name, haha :)

Brian M. Haven't picked a favorite track yet as I've just gotten through my first listen, but in terms of what I look for in "raw black metal" this album is damn close to perfect. The riffs are well-written, well-varied, and the melodic undertones accentuate the aggression so nicely. Plus, the production is divine. Not sterile, yet not lo-fi'd into absolute silliness and indistinction. Unreal that the driving force behind all this is so young!

FormlessFlesh Those drums captivated me the second I heard Mvt. I Vivace. With the vocals you get some deeper growls and vocal fry for emphasis. As I listened further, I expected some flaw that would ultimately lower my expectations; however, this was not the case.
Final verdict: everyone can pack it up. This has to be album of the year already and this was released 6 days in?! I may be jumping the gun, but it will be tough to find anything to top this. Favorite track: Mvt. I Vivace.

Dave Aftandilian Raging yet controlled Quebecois black metal musings on the dissolution of all that is. What if the ice that supports the ground beneath us were to melt away? What if everything that defines who we are were to be stripped away from us? Who would we be then? Would the evil we do become all we are, or could we evolve into something better?

DŶSENTERY BLUES I knew when this album was announced that it was going to be a terpy, terpy day. Terps up, hoes down! Terp nation terp elevation!
